Does OHIP cover my eye exam?
In Ontario, OHIP covers a routine eye exam once every 12 months for patients under 20 and over 65. Adults aged 20 to 64 are covered only when they have a qualifying medical condition. Everyone else pays privately, and most extended health plans reimburse.

All 42 questionsAre you accepting new patients? Is it necessary to get my file from my last eye doctor?
Yes, we are always accepting new patients. On your first visit, our eye doctors will determine if your past eye medical records will be necessary for our review.
Are eye exams, contact lenses and eyeglasses covered by private insurance?
Most of our patients have private insurance coverage for eye care, through their place of employment or a plan they bought on their own, and how much it covers depends on the plan.
How quickly can I get an appointment?
Toronto Eye Care prides itself on easy access to our clinics and accommodations are made for same day appointments depending on the severity of the eye problem.
How often should I have my eyes examined?
Annual eye examinations are recommended for all patients and age groups.
