Toronto Eye Care is an optometry practice with two clinics in Toronto. This page describes what this website collects about the people who use it, where that information goes, and how to contact us about it. It is about the website only.
Requesting an appointment
The appointment form asks for your first and last name, your email address, and optionally a phone number; which clinic you would like to visit; a preferred date and time; a reason for the appointment, chosen from a list; and a comments box.
The reason list includes clinical reasons, and the comments box is free text. Please do not put medical details in the comments box. If you need to discuss a medical concern, call the clinic instead. Both numbers are on our contact page.
When you submit the form, it is emailed to the practice at info@torontoeyecare.com and a copy is stored in this website’s database. Stored submissions are kept until they are deleted; no automatic deletion is currently configured.
The appointment page uses Google reCAPTCHA to tell people from automated submissions. Google receives your IP address, browser details and signals about how the page is used in order to do that.
The shop
If you buy something from our online shop, the website stores your name, your billing and shipping addresses and your order history. Payment is taken by PayPal. Card details are entered on PayPal’s site and never reach this website or its database.
Analytics and advertising
Every page of this site loads Google Tag Manager, which runs Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion tracking. Google receives your IP address, browser details, the page you are on and the page you came from. IP addresses are anonymised in Google Analytics. Google’s advertising and remarketing features are enabled.
Security logging
The website’s security software, Wordfence, records the IP address, browser details and address of requests made to the site, in the website’s own database.
Cookies
An ordinary visit to this site sets no cookies. The shop sets a cart cookie once you add something to a basket. Google’s services set their own cookies under their own policies.
Where this information is held
This website, its database and the form submissions stored in it are hosted in the United States. Google and PayPal operate on their own infrastructure in the United States and elsewhere.
Links to other sites
The links to Facebook, Instagram, X and LinkedIn in the footer are plain links. Nothing is sent to those services unless you follow one.
